The President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Alaa Omar Al-Ali, met with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Damascus, Mr. Ibrahim Hassan, to discuss ways to enhance trade relations between the two countries. The two sides discussed the possibility of forming a joint business council aimed at strengthening economic and investment cooperation, as well as renewing previous economic agreements and actively participating in trade fairs to increase the volume of trade exchange. This would contribute to opening new horizons for development projects that serve the interests of both the Syrian and Sudanese people.
During the meeting, the head of the federation stressed the need to address all issues facing Syrian businesspeople and traders in Sudan, and to facilitate the issuance of entry visas for them, in order to help them resume their stalled projects in Sudan. The importance of streamlining procedures and removing obstacles to Syrian investments in Sudan was also emphasized, with the aim of accelerating trade cooperation between the two countries.
